KiNotes installed but do not show in the applications.

Hi,

I've just installed KiNotes in KiCad using the KiCad plugin manager.

No plugin icon appears anywhere in KiCad applications (even after KiCad restart).

KiNotes plugin files have been installed in Documents\KiCad\9.0\3rdparty\plugins\com_pcbtools_kinotes\KiNotes.
The Documents\KiCad\9.0\3rdparty\plugins folder contains other plugins directories. So, I guess this is the right place for plugins files unlike what is written in the installation section.

So, what's wrong ?

PCM install issue:
The plugin is currently installed one directory too deep:

.../plugins/com_pcbtools_kinotes/KiNotes/

KiCad expects the files directly under:

.../plugins/com_pcbtools_kinotes/

A new KiNotes release has been published Net linker fix applied and correct workaround for folder implemented.

need to wait for PCM merge request for new version submited. The plugin now installs in the correct directory and loads without manual intervention.

Please let me know if you notice anything else.

This looks like an amazing tool and can reduce the complexity of tracking my design/change process.

I appear to have the same problem as NicoPy and have tried the fix you proposed. Even after doing it, i can't see a way to open a KiNotes document. I am sorry to be trouble.

Initially, i put the files in \KiCad\9.0\3rdparty\plugins\com_pcbtools_kinotes\KiNotes

After moving them to
\KiCad\9.0\3rdparty\plugins\com_pcbtools_kinotes\ and restarting KiCad, KiNotes still isn't showing up in the editor list (right hand window).

I also tried doing the installation from the "Plugin and Content Manager."

KiNotes shows up in the installed list in the "Plugin and Content Manager" (i can't tell if it was before or after i moved it). Both it and the other plugin show up in the "C:<mydocs>\KiCad\9.0\3rdparty\plugins" directory under their appropriate folders.

I wonder why the plugin icon is not accessible from the schematics editor. Any reason why ?

add any "note , notes ,note(s) , kinotes" schematic symbol field can be extracted as notes , so it more interlinking to uuid instade R1 , R2 ...

The KiNotes plugin icon appears only in Kicad PCB Editor.

Aha! I am able to find it now. Thank you @NicoPy !
@way2pramil I was looking for it in the schematic editor instead of the PCB editor. I like to write my value calculations and design concepts in the schematic-- i don't know if this is only a personal preference but being able to access it in the schematic would be ideal. I know it is simple to open PCB, open KiNotes, then go to the schematic. However, I don't get to the layout process on several of my boards until very late, if at all.

I also prefer schematic to keep calculation , if kicad allowe through action plugin I have that plan to try so we can access from both side schematic as well as layout .

Dear way2pramil, this is a great plugin which I think is great functionality for KiCad. I just wanted to say I have had the same issue as this and that the fix that you offered regarding moving the directory one up also fixed the issue for me.
