Cross-realm / shared Dungeon Finder queue between two realms sharing the same database (one realm with Playerbots)

Hi! I run two AzerothCore realms that share the same MySQL database. Some features appear shared (e.g., Auction House), but Dungeon Finder / LFG queues are not shared (each realm has its own queue).

My community is small during certain hours, so I keep a second realm with Playerbots to allow dungeon/party content. The problem is that players lose social features when they move there (chat, community, etc.), so my goal is:

Players stay on Realm 1 (main realm)

Realm 2 exists mainly to provide bots for low-pop hours

Dream goal: make Dungeon Finder queues shared across both realms, so a player queueing on Realm 1 can match with bots/players connected to Realm 2 without having to switch realms.

Crossrealm LFG

Yes, crossrealm LFG is possible, just like crossrealm battleground that was already implemented. This is something I plan to work on, but it’s currently in my backlog and I don’t have an ETA.

Playerbots and cross-realm features

You mentioned using Playerbots on the second realm. To be clear: ToCloud9 does not support Playerbots. While you might be able to make them run in a basic setup, they will not work correctly once cross worldserver interaction is required and LFG is exactly such a case.

Shared databases across worldservers

Running two realms against the same database (especially the characters database) is not safe especially outside of ToCloud9 setup. Two worldservers will continuously write their internal state to the same tables, which leads to data corruption. In practice, this results in disappearing items, mails, and other similar issues.
