Example with elford:

  • Search for “Line”, Vim highlights matches:

  • Select the text, Visual covers the higlighted matches:

Compare with blue, where matches are still visible in selected text:

Just bringing this to your attention. This may as well be a design decision: I'm not saying that there's a bug. I'm just wondering:

  1. should all color schemes have the same visual behavior?
  2. Should there be a guideline to prefer one way or another?

I personally like the way blue does it, but maybe it's not feasible for every color scheme. And I understand that it's a matter of taste to some extent.
