Using PHP for the REST server?

Is it possible to use a PHP MySql backend?

I do not know much about PHP MySQL, but if you can provide a RESTful endpoint, it should be possible.

Take a look at BackboneREST (especially the tests) for a Node.js implementation.

There are a few important details:

1. there is a query syntax on GET in index that would need to be ported

2. you would need to generate join table controllers

3. the query parameters are parsed like JSON to differentiate between numbers and strings for queries and ids.

2 would be optional if you are not using many to many relationships. You might be able to get by with a simplified implementation on 1 to start (like skipping paging) depending on your use cases.
