[Bug] The MSQ widget shows a wrong number of quests

When the check mark "Show progress for current expansion only" is set, the amount of maximum quests in ARR is 298 (aka, pre-5.3 purge). The actual amount of quests according to the wiki is 240-241.

Example (mine) of the widget bar while one of the last quests of the expansion (95% of ARR&2.x patches) is being completed:

The problem is of course that it makes tracking the % of completion very hard

This issue still exists as of 2/14/2026 and is present for total progress. Umbra claims there's around 60-ish more quests than there actually are for all MSQ.

The data Umbra shows comes from the game's data itself. I'm not sure how that number comes together, it may consist of quests you can no longer accept and the other starting town specific ones.

For reference on this, it's likely due to the starting city specific quests, since Gridania, Limsa and Ul'dah have 23, 23 and 24 quests exclusive to them as starting city respectively

this issue still persists as of 2026/05/21, would be great to see this fixed. if the issue really is the 3 different starting cities then simply subtract the appropriate amount from the ARR total based on which starting city the player chose. if this can't be done via game data you could let us select which city we started in in the widget settings, same for starting class in case that also changes quest amount.
