Why no npm distribution?

I find it odd that the datagrid isn't on npm. It's really uncommon and I don't think the "headless" part makes this necessary. When you make changes to the core or enhanced features, I want to be able to update the version in my package.json, not redownload from github again.

Another note is that the installation doesn't explain very well what the difference between basic and enhanced version is. Is enhanced the shadcn version? I guess it is, but the installation wizard and the docs don't make this clear.

When I started this project I was very into the shadcn philosophy of copying code directly into your project and owning it. Because of that I didn’t think publishing it on npm was that important, even though I knew about the downside you mentioned.

Now, two years later, I’d probably do a lot of things differently - especially publishing it as an npm package.

And yes - enhanced is basically the shadcn version.

About installation wizard - the project definitely needs some love and polishing, but unfortunately I don’t have as much time as I used to after starting a new job. I don’t want to abandon it, but I’m considering simplifying things and supporting only the headless version.

Headless version on npm would satisfy my use case well, I don't really care for shadcn
