Sort server on datagrid enhanced

Hi @tzezar I used enhanced datagrid to avoid recreating the interface, is there a way I can use server-side sorting instead of just sorting based on available local data?

Yeah, server-side sorting is doable. I’ll include an example in the PR I’m pushing today.

Also spotted an unhandled case in applySorting, fixing that too. Will drop the link here once it’s up.

@tzezar I'm not sure about this but it seems like when doing sort, pagination server, isManual = true datagrid still does sort or pagination, search local data before calling server api right? and i think the datagrid-enhanced functions are working fine just you need to check the services files again to make sure the onXXXChange functions are called

I just had a little inconvenience when the file path was incorrect when I installed the src into my custom folder, I used node js file to read the file list in the datagrid and datagrid-enhanced to replace $lib to the import path I wanted, because $lib is a different path where I don't intend to install datagrid here

I'm really sorry, but I have some bad news — something is seriously broken with server-side pagination in the enhanced datagrid. I’m not able to implement it easily without passing a completely custom component adapted for server-side pagination into the Pagination snippet. It does work, but only with a tailored component, so I need to figure out a better solution for this.

Regarding the issue with isManual = true and the datagrid still triggering sort or pagination — you're absolutely right. It still fires because those features aren’t fully handled manually yet. That flag doesn’t affect much otherwise. I honestly don’t know how I overlooked proper server-side support in so many places. The fact that it doesn’t work properly and the repo still has 200 stars... and you're only now pointing it out — thank you for that.

As for the path structure — yes, there’s already an open issue about it. It will be fixed in version 3, since it’s a breaking change.

I need to sit down this weekend and patch all of these things properly in the core.

yes i really like your datagrid and appreciate the work you are doing, i think you should focus more on server side as most real life applications use server side data

Hi @tzezar I suggest can you help add render #snippet in cell so datagrid can support more without having to write html in cell or separate write in a new file as a component file? I tried editing the code further into the core as well as adding the export type CustomCellSnippetWithProps = { snippet: Snippet; props?: any; } to add to your CustomCell type to be able to display the #snippet and it worked.

I also restyled the grid and added some available classes of tailiwncss to make the table looks easier to see haha

Yeah, all good! I’m slammed at work right now - we’re about to release a product, so it’s a huge crunch. I barely have time to sleep, and not much left for side projects either, sorry. I’ll make sure to take care of the datagrid as soon as I can.
