[Feature Request] - Play sound from OctoPrint UI

Instead of trying (in the future) to do multi-tone beeps, why not allow the upload of one or more (that could be selected from a list within the settings) of short (you can limit the size) .mp3 or .mp4[audio only] or .wav (ugh) files to be played instead of the beep. That way, people could create and install their own custom beep sounds.

Unfortunately, the only way to output sound for a printer is with the https://reprap.org/wiki/G-code#M300:_Play_beep_sound gcode. This only takes a frequency and a tone. Another request (#6 ) wants to allow custom gcode to play instead of the single beep. With something like that and have a ring tone, you can use http://ddrboxman.github.io/RepRapRingtone/ to generate the gcode to play

That would limit mp3 output to the OctoPrint's audio output. For some that might work, not sure if that's what you are looking for.

I was referring to a local (computer) sound, so yes, through OctoPrint. You could have any local sound echoed with the simple beep on the printer. My computer is completely away from my printers, so any printer beep would never be heard, but if I were able to play, for instance, a Klaxon sound file when something triggered it, it would be enough to wake me if I'm sleeping. An "Add trigger" for things that the printer sends, and a selected sound file to match for it would be so awesome, because then you could tell by the sound what was happening. An interface similar to the Terminal Commands Extended plugin would be something to shoot for. I know this is all in the future, just spit-balling.

Sorry, was looking into this more (yeah, I know it's months later. Been an odd year). Just to make sure I understand.

You want the sound to play through your computer
Is this the same computer that is hosting octoprint (and therefore plugged into your printer)?
Or do you just have octoprint open in a browser tab on this computer?

LOL, I had forgotten all about this one. I'm thinking playing it on the computer running the browser, that way oyu can just have the sounds local, either a custom file or the built in system sounds. My RPis are downstairs in another room, so playing a sound on them would be kinda pointless :)
