User preferences not retained on other computer

Perhaps the setting s do not get applied when on another computer.

Setup and issue

Obsidian on Mac. Vault is on iCloud. I have Flow setup on my laptop. I switched to my desktop and accessed the same vault. Flow files and folders were at expected places. Flow was not installed on desktop, so I installed it. However, the folders and files I set up in Flow options were not retained/applied on desktop I.e. they were back to default.

In the image below, you can see my preferred files and folders that I set by hand after installing Flow on desktop, but also you can see "People Folder" as an example how Flow fell back to defaults.

Expected situation

When Flow is installed, it checks whether there are already some user preferences present.
(if I an unclear with this situation, let me know, I will try better)

So I think this one is a syncing issue rather than a Flow issue.

• Plugins and settings are stored in the .obsidian directory inside your vault
• The fact that you had to reinstall Flow on your desktop means that the .obsidian directory isn't being synced
• Therefore the settings won't be synced either

I don't know how iCloud syncs dotfiles and folders like .obsidian, so it could be that.

You can fix this by copying .obsidian/plugins/flow/data.json from your laptop to your desktop in the same place. Or using Obsidian Sync which handles this well.

Thank you for reply and guidance. I will test a little and see what is happening actually. I am using some other plugins and they synced nicely (if my memory is correct).

Hm strange, I could be wrong but it syncs fine on my side. Let me know what you find!
