Use `transport` for `pushState`/`replaceState` serialization

The pushState function from $app/navigation does not allow custom objects

Describe the proposed solution

Reuse the transport hook + devalue to serialize and parse state, similar to what SvelteKit does for network boundaries

I also stumbled over this issue. I try to implement the Loading data for a route example. But the data that is returned from preloadData cannot be passed to pushState because it contains data that is serialized/deserialized with the transport hook.

Is there a workaround to handle that case?

Hi @akkie, the workaround you can try is installing my fork of sveltekit with npm i https://pkg.pr.new/sveltejs/kit/@sveltejs/kit@d55c91e

Hi @GauBen , tried it and it works. But this is not really a workaround until there is a change that your branch gets merged.

As I use my own fork in production I keep it quite up-to-date. However if that's still too slow for you, feel free to ping me and I'll rebase it.

You can also call devalue every time you call pushState/replaceState, that's more cumbersome but it allows you to stay on the official release of kit.
