Is this project abandoned?

I am using mimicus on a project and want to introduce several improvements to it.

Among other things, I need to:

• Upgrade to python 3.x
• Release a version to PyPi

I will gladly contribute these things here if I get a response and am given permissions to do so.
And I will also happily take over @srndic work as well and become the maintainer of the repository if he has no interest on continuing to do so and gives me write access to it.

Meanwhile, I will just work on my own fork preparing all the changes for the release, but I will restrain from taking the name on PyPi until the last moment.

If I get no response in a couple of weeks I will go ahead and take it, but I will have no problem transferring it back to @srndic any time in the near future if he requests so.

Thanks for informing me about your plans for Mimicus, I find that a very friendly gesture.

This project was created to assure reproducibility of my paper, and as such it isn't planned to get any changes in the future. In a sense you can consider it a part of the paper.

It is nevertheless pleasant to learn that it's useful for other purposes. You are free to use the code as long as its usage complies with its license. However, if you wish to make modifications I would kindly ask you to rename your fork to prevent confusion. I would also be grateful if you would in some way reference in your project that it is a fork of Mimicus.

One final note: the end of life for Python 2 is coming, so the migration to Python 3 is definitely the right thing to do. If you can isolate the port to Python 3 in a few commits, I would cherish that contribution and merge it into master to ensure reproducibility beyond Python 2.

Unfortunately, I could not get the chance to continue working on it, so at the end I never created it.
