Hi, I'm Adam 👋

When I switched to Linux, I fell for terminal apps almost immediately, and then
tried to build one. It was hard: clunky, limited, every bit of polish fighting
back. That left me with a question I couldn't put down: why is there no React
or Elm for the terminal?

So I built one.

(The name? Tulipan is Polish for tulip: tui-lipan is that word with a TUI
planted inside. Yes, the logo is a tulip. 🌷)

What I'm building

  • tui-lipan: a component-based
    TUI framework for Rust. Declarative components, layout engine, mouse + focus,
    overlays, themes, animation, and headless snapshots so even AI agents can
    see the UI they build. Over 230,000 lines of Rust, written solo.
  • opencode-tui: a full rebuild
    of the OpenCode AI coding TUI. Measurably faster to start, ~20x lighter in
    memory, with full feature parity.
  • hyprmux: a Hyprland-style tiling
    terminal multiplexer with animated layouts, floating panes, and workspaces.
  • EmberDeep: a roguelike where
    torchlight is your health bar, your clock, and your field of view.

Everything is open source. The framework is MPL-2.0: free for commercial and
closed-source apps, and it can never be forked closed.

Why sponsor?

I build and maintain all of this alone. Sponsorship doesn't buy features or
support contracts. It buys time: time to fix bugs, review PRs, write docs,
and keep shipping the framework and apps everyone gets for free.
