slide/presentation workflow discussion

talked with fellows and MSL team about their workflows, looking for things that would be (a) essential and (b) desirable in a slide/deck tool

workflows

• make one or a few slides and use them to storyboard, before then breaking out into more, and more detailed, slides
• copy and paste stuff from existing decks, mostly reusing things that were already made

essential

• pull in slides from (keynote | google docs)
• rearrange elements on the page, draw (vector) stuff on the page and edit the design
• rearrange slides within a deck

desirable

• collapse sections of a talk
• group slides in sets that relate to a specific topic
• tag slides, sets and decks
• compose a deck from existing sets and slides
• storyboard a deck before building it
