Short Origin Operating Procedure, or "Soop" 🥣, is a play on words for Standard Operating Procedure.

A standard operating procedure, or SOP for short, is a set of instructions that tells you how to do something in a certain way. It helps you to do your task correctly, quickly, and safely. SOPs are like recipes for cooking, but instead of food, they are for different kinds of work. For example, there might be an SOP for how to clean a classroom, how to check out a book from the library, or how to use a fire extinguisher.

SOPs are important because they make sure that everyone does the same thing in the same way, so that the results are consistent and reliable. SOPs also help to prevent mistakes, accidents, and confusion. By following an SOP, you can be confident that you are doing your job well and following the rules. SOPs are often used in places where quality, safety, and efficiency are very important, such as hospitals, factories, schools, and offices12

Here is an example of an SOP for how to wash your hands properly:

Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap, and apply soap. Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum the "Happy Birthday" song from beginning to end twice. Rinse your hands well under clean, running water. Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them3 I hope this helps you understand what an SOP is and why it is useful.
