A thought that has occurred has been the idea of favorite items.
These could either be only personal but highlighted at the top of your results page, or possibly shared when others compare results with you.
The intent is to have your favorites highlighted at the top of results, i.e. maybe sushi is my favorite food and I want to see at a glance a friend I'm comparing results with to see if they also like sushi, without scrolling to that section of the results.
I imagine this would be a star alongside and separate from the ratings. I also see a way in which it could be made part of ratings - though that may be confusing.
Happy to chat more about the idea if you'd like. And may take a crack at implementation but thought I'd get the idea out there at least.
