I fired up seerr to take a look at it, I am the only user, I have connected it to plex.

I do not have any backends configured I was hoping to use it purely via the API with my own scripts, however if I make a request I just get the error "Something went wrong while submitting the request." after it tells me it will be auto approved.

Please send logs in our support channel. Or here too is fine. My guess is you're missing some params required for the request

What do you mean parameters I am just clicking the UI to make a request it prompts me it will be auto approved then errors.

The question is should this work even if there is no backend for downloads attached.

IE shouldn't it just add a request to the requests queue?

Ah I misread. You said API using script. There is a backend i think you're confused as to what backend is. Seerr has its own backend. I think you meant services and yes it does work without a service. Several people use like that. Including me for my test instances. Please use our support channel and send logs + your browser network logs for required help.

as per discord, solved my issue by blowing away the config directory and starting clean.. Guessing something was slightly off with folder permissions or something during initial setup which is now resolved.
