Clicking on a point on the map causes the timeline to jump ahead beyond the before/after dates of the point

I'm using the most recent versions of Omeka and Neatline, and have created a timeline in hours that groups records by a time period using Before and After dates - and no start/end dates. But when I click on a point on the map, the timeline jumps forward to after the time period in which the record appears (a half hour into the next before/after period) - with the result that the record displays on a map that does not include the point to which it relates. I've tried adding start/end dates, but clicking on a point on the map still jumps the timeline out of the range of the point's before/after dates

Do you have a public view of this? That might help work through this. In the meantime, let me try to detangle what all of those different dates actually do in Neatline (including one you don't mention). I personally find them more than a little confusing.

Start Date is the beginning of the visual indication of the time range on the timeline. End Date marks the end of the time range. This also determines where the timeline centers when you click on the record. This may be the middle of the range or the start date (if there is no end date).

After Date and Before Date mark the time span in which the features for the record will show display on the map. To rephrase, the record will only show up when the timeline is centered between after date and before date.

Based on this, it sounds like the record's start date falls outside the after-before date range. If you make sure the start date (or the middle between the start and end dates) are between after date and before date, you should get more expected behavior.

Yes, I've become very confused trying to work out how the date types interact. You've described what happens when there are start/end and after/before dates -- but I've only used after/before. I tried adding start/end dates to some records to see if that made a difference, but it didn't. Clicking stilled caused the timeline to jump outside the before/after date.

I tried adding start dates again - it didn't work except in a case where I made a typo in the date (1935-03-19-16:00), and in that case the record opened without the timeline jumping.
