If Liberty has been sending data continuously, when you start the liberty program, it has a bunch of data in the buffer for several cycles. This doesn't happen if you run PiTerm and press 'p' for single read, and then disconnect and start up the liberty program again. Need to figure out what PiTerm does to make this happen.
