Extension uses outdated manifest

I just stumbled across this project and when attempting to add the extension into Chromium I'm told that it can't be installed because the manifest is unsupported.

I haven't worked on this project for almost 2 years, so that's expected. I'll see if I can find some time to get back at it. If you want to contribute though, be it code or documentation, PRs are welcome!

I do not know coding unfortunately. I found your project via Brave's AI search, I have been trying to find a way to split-tunnel Chromium specifically so that it bypasses my exit-node, because my exit-node is on a VPS and has an SPAM rating in the 90's, so I lost my Reddit account due to it and I have spent almost a week trying everything else I could think of, but Tailscale is powerful and fights back!

Shouldn't you complain about that to your VPS Provider? They shouldn't be giving you an IP which is almost blacklisted.

Anyways regarding Reddit, their blocking is really aggressive. I have this exact issue, which is why I started SplitScale, and then my university blocked Tailscale itself so I switched to Netbird and that's why I haven't looked after this project.

I'll think I can make the daemon modular, so that both Tailscale and Netbird works, and update the Chrome extension.

I've been very busy with other stuffs, let's see if find some time to dedicate to this project.

My VPS is hosted by Oracle, and it's free, so I'm not sure if complaining would do anything, the other half of the issue is my ISP assigned IP, is also in high 80's on SPAM, and granted, the IP is not static, but until it rotates off, I am screwed on Reddit, and even if I were to call the ISP and request a new IP address, there is no guarantee that the next one would be any better :/ I really do not know what to do in this situation. If you find the time to update SplitScale that would be great, because as you know, Tailscale is great and a PITA at the same time when it comes to how it interacts with the network and is extremely difficult to bypass.

No, if it's Oracle, it doesn't matter if it's free or paid, they'll give exactly the same level of attention (or, should I say inattention?) to your problem.

But, if both your ISP IP and VPS IP is highly rated as spam, then how'd you use Reddit anyway? You don't have a clean IP, do you? Unless, probably if you're using Mullvad Exit Nodes in Tailscale or have another VPS with a good IP Record.
