Halley could use a recognizable project icon/logo.
Halley is a spatial Wayland compositor focused on movement, navigation,
clusters, and a desktop that feels more like a navigable space than a flat
stack of windows. The icon should ideally hint at that identity without
becoming too detailed or literal.
I have a few rough directions in mind, but I’d like to collect ideas before
settling on a visual direction.
Possible directions:
- comet / Halley's Comet inspired
- orbit, trail, navigation, or spatial movement inspired
- minimal app icon or abstract "H" mark
- subtle terminal / developer-tool influence
- something that works well at small sizes, like a favicon or GitHub avatar
Useful constraints:
- recognizable at small sizes
- works on light and dark backgrounds
- simple enough to adapt into SVG
- not too detailed or illustration-heavy
- usable as a GitHub avatar, website icon, package/project icon, etc.
Things to avoid:
- overly detailed comet illustrations
- generic planet/star imagery with no connection to Halley
- designs that only work on one background color
- text-heavy marks that do not scale down well
Rough sketches, references, mockups, SVG experiments, or concept descriptions
are all welcome.
