[Bug]: Steps not syncing

What happened?

I have a jring that I am able to connect to the app. Steps were syncing about 12 hours ago but haven't updated since. I tried "Sync now" in the app which did not do anything. Manually checking heart rate and SpO2 works, so the ring is definitely doing something.

Steps to reproduce

1. Connect ring
2. Take a few steps
3. Check if it's updated
4. If not, go to settings and hit "Sync now"

Hi, thank you for the detailed issue.

This might be a similar problem to #8. It turns out that there is some commands that the original Jring app sends the ring for the setup that we haven't gotten around reverse engineering. Can you try to setup the ring with the Jring app, and then unbind and use with the PulseLoop app. I am working on decoding the setup commands too.

Hey, I unpaired from PulseLoop, set up Jring and things looked decent overnight and through the morning. I then unpaired and set up PulseLoop again which worked for a bit but then stopped tracking steps. There are still a lot of "unknown" events in the logs.

I will say the step tracking in the Jring app itself is iffy. I'll walk a few steps, manually refresh a few times, and the steps won't appear. Then I'll notice an hour later steps were synced and will occasionally sync in real time as I'm walking with the app open. I have no idea if it's a bad ring.

Interesting, I have not been using the 56ff ring recently as I am working on adding support for Colmi rings. But, I don't remember this step problem while I was using it (it used to be consistent between JRing and PulseLoop). You might just have a bad ring, but I am soon going to go back to the 56ff ring and figure out the remaining stuff. If you want a slightly better ring, I would recommend the Colmi series - I have been testing the R11 and it is significantly better quality data and more metrics.
