Chapters broken after metadata only write

I've found a pattern with several audiobooks that weren't created by myself metadata/cover/chapter wise.. After updating the metadata in the audiobook, the chapters appear to be broken.

At first I thought the audiobooks were just wrongly chaptered, but now it appears to be the tooling

I'm using 0.13 latest release

ps: I don't use ReadConfig so all metadata is read/written (default) and I prefer it this way
as I've created code around mp4ameta that looks for metadata and chapter files to import/export

I also found that updating the chapters afterwards doesn't correct the issue for both Mediainfo and Audiobookshelf.

Doing an ffmpeg audio extract without metadata/chapters/cover is the workaround I use to fix it in the end

Alright,

I've send you a zip file using WeTransfer, containing 2 audio files from before tagging in a '0 Before' folder
which also contains a mediainfo extract to show the before metadata

The simple making the change source code is in the '1 mvp-audiobook-messedup' folder
(which I myself would compile using the latest Rust with cargo build --release
and is basically "The Easy Way" from your Readme using Title)

Then there is also the '2 After' folder with the after situation's mediainfo extract

• 1 case with Chapters timing and text messed up after updating the Title tag
• 1 case with Chapters timing messed up after updating the Title tag

Since this is already the primary issue, I've skipped the next step I would take and that is overwrite the chapters
with my own import that works on other files, however for these files doesn't do much good:

tag.chapter_list_mut().clear();
tag.chapter_track_mut().clear();
tag.chapter_track_mut().extend(parse_and_create(chapters_vec));

So the issue seems to be that mediainfo doesn't support chpl atoms of version 0. Writing version 1 fixes the messed up titles an chapters.

I've reported the issue here: MediaArea/MediaInfoLib#2534

I'm not sure if we should write version 1 chpl atoms by default instead, but I've pushed a branch, in case you want to use that: https://github.com/saecki/mp4ameta/tree/chpl-version-1

Thanks for checking and I've read the MediaInfo issue.

Searching the internet I found this on the subject:

Issues & Compatibility: Some applications, such as FFmpeg, create both Nero (chpl) and QuickTime (chap) tags, which can cause issues with certain tag editors like Mp3tag or older iTunes versions.

I've never had any issues with FFmpeg / Mp3tag or other tagging apps before.

I believe you already write both chpl and chap correct?

I just haven't taken the time to look into this more deeply. There also doesn't seem to be that much information available generally.
