What is the path towards a fully flushed out `emacs-libgterm`?

Love the idea behind the project and would love to see a libghostty based "term" in emacs. In your view, what are the remaining features required to make this a "complete" alternative for vterm?

As a user coming from libvterm, I would say the biggest missing features are the ability to send Ctrl-x to the terminal (nano currently is quite hard to quit) and a read-only mode where the whole buffer is navigable/ copy-able.

Both of these are available now:

• Sending reserved keys (C-x, C-g, etc.): Just added in b504030 — C-q acts as a passthrough. Press C-q C-x to send Ctrl-X to the terminal (e.g., to exit nano).
• Read-only/copy mode: Already existed — C-c C-k toggles copy mode. The buffer becomes navigable with normal Emacs movement keys. y or M-w copies the selection and exits, q exits without copying.
