App very laggy

I builded rust android demo, but its laggy. How i can fix it?

Have you made sure that the Rust code is compiled in release mode?

What hardware are you running the app on (i.e. what model is your phone/android device)?

Compiled in debug mode, phone is xiaomi redmi note 12 pro 4g. But its very weird, like i know what debug builds is not very optimized, but not what much.
I have like 0.5 fps, sometimes it freezes at all. Maybe when i be at home i can make video.

To confirm, that video is taken in release mode? If so, that's definitely concerning. That phone's processor doesn't seem much less powerful than the machines we've been testing this with.

The debug mode performance being quite poor is a known issue - we believe it's largely related to the recalculation of the text layout occuring between each keypress, rather than being coalesced, which means that fast inputs create more lag.

Probably? It would require changes in Parley's PlainEditor to not recalculate the layout unless something needed it (like backspacing or using an arrow key, for example).
But I don't think this is very high priority.
It would be good to get an issue recorded in Parley for that - we discussed it briefly at RustWeek.

If you can also debug where the performance issue is coming from, if it's a different source, that would help here.
