Summary

Add an AI-powered chatbot to the FlipTrack landing page that helps visitors understand the platform, explore features, and get answers to common questions before signing up.

Problem

New users visiting FlipTrack may not immediately understand the platform's capabilities, target audience, or key features. Currently, users need to navigate through the website and documentation to learn about the product.

Proposed Solution

Introduce an AI assistant on the landing page that can answer questions about FlipTrack and guide users through the platform's functionality.

What is FlipTrack?
Who is FlipTrack designed for?
How does inventory management work?
How are profits and expenses tracked?
What AI features are available?
How do I get started with FlipTrack?

To help you get started and ensure the PR goes smoothly, here are a few architectural guidelines for this feature:

1. API Route: Create a new unauthenticated route for the chatbot endpoint (e.g., app/routes/api.chat.ts). You can leverage our existing Groq API key setup for the Vercel AI SDK.
2. Security & Rate Limiting: Since this endpoint will be public on the landing page, it is highly vulnerable to bot abuse which could drain our API credits. You must implement strict rate-limiting on this route (e.g., limiting requests by IP address).
3. System Prompt Guardrails: Please ensure the system prompt strictly instructs the AI to only answer questions related to FlipTrack, inventory management, and reselling. We need to prevent malicious users from using our landing page as a free, general-purpose ChatGPT!
4. UI Architecture: Please place the floating chat widget component in app/blocks/landing/ (remember, we place all new UI components in app/blocks, not app/components), and style it using Vanilla CSS Modules.

• Accessibility enhancements (ARIA roles, keyboard navigation) are noted and will be added in the next iteration.
• Performance considerations for visual effects are acknowledged; current implementation prioritizes UI consistency and simplicity for initial release.

Hi @rushikesh-bobade, this is a great feature idea and I noticed it’s already assigned with a PR open.

I don’t want to duplicate the current work, but I’d be happy to help with a follow-up improvement if needed — especially around IP-based rate limiting, stronger system prompt guardrails, TypeScript error handling, accessibility improvements, or mobile UX for the chatbot.
