Migration Checklist from Next CRM to Frappe CRM #399

Next CRM → Frappe CRM Migration Checklist

Migration window: 2nd June · 10:00–11:00 AM IST


Pre-migration: prep & verification

  • Verify app versions on production — All
  • Take DB backup of production and clone to preprod (reference for Next CRM vs FCRM comparison)
  • Dry-run the migrator with all required production apps
  • Confirm all app versions are matched and compatible
  • Merge pending PRs: PMS (customer_abbr), rtCamp (CRM → frappe_crm_xt), gmail_thread (attachment, sync-fix)
  • Change branch for next-crm to crm-fixes (remove monkey patching and validation)

App installation

  • Install WordPress Form API app on production — verify no errors
  • Install Frappe CRM app
  • Install CRM xt app
  • Install Migrator
  • Install Next PMS latest version
  • Pull latest code for all merged PRs

Code sync & configuration

  • Remove and sync code between erp-rtcamp app and CRM xt app
  • Enable ERPNext migration settings in Frappe CRM once active (required for customer creation)
  • Add button to delete old Lead/Opportunity data in migrator app with confirmation alert

Migration

  • Inform sales team to pause all CRM activities before migration starts
  • Start migration using doctypes from migrator app
  • Do field mapping and migrate data from Next CRM and Core CRM to FCRM

Post-migration cleanup

  • Remove Next CRM app (in a separate PR)
  • Delete public view for ERPNext CRM doctypes
  • Test user permissions for non-sales users via doc share from CRM Portal
  • Verify all fields and data after Next CRM deletion
  • Old NCRM tables to remain; schedule deletion after 2–3 weeks

    ⚠️ No rollback possible after deletion is triggered

Gravity Forms connector

  • Replace Gravity Forms–Frappe CRM connector plugin on rtCamp.com, rtcamp-preprod and rtcamp-develop — Dev (rtCamp site)
  • Map fields: Gravity Forms ↔ FCRM — Dev (rtCamp site)

Gmail

  • Install Gmail add-on for FCRM on Chrome browser
  • Verify Gmail thread is configured — confirm it fetches emails from inbox

testing

  • create a lead from GravityForm and manual from CRM
  • Convert to Deal
  • Verify all the fields and data are placed correctly
  • Change the stages and status to see the automation checklist
  • Event are created
  • Tasks are created
  • Gmail thread working
  • Gmail add-on working
  • Kanban view (public view) configured and working
