General Question: SEO / Hosting + Codes

Currently I am playing around with Otterwiki, trying to get the feel of things, but my cousin is the one doing the hosting and there's no guarantee that he will be able to host forever. Moreover, I can't afford the hardware to self-host. I am not sure if Otter hosts websites on its own or if you have to do the hosting. If the ladder, is there a wiki I can use that's free, pretty easy to use, doesn't require me to host, and offers free SEO support (so will show in search results)?

I know for what I am looking for it would probably be easier to pay for a service to build a website/host it, even though I've tried a few options out there and they weren't to my liking. Aside from the problem of these services eventually deleting your website if you can't make payments anymore, is that it's hard to justify paying for such a service when I don't have the reach to make up for the expenses. Nor can I advertise and accept any money outside of work due to being on disability, hence the search for free options.

Secondary Question:
Where I can find free html codes, widgets, scripts, and so that work with wiki's? For example: If I wanted a fancier looking drop down, flashing text, or public chatbox.

Unless something has changed recently, AnOtterWiki doesn't provide hosting (though under the MIT license, someone could offer OtterWiki hosting as a service).

There is room for improvement on SEO, but things do get discovered (As an example, search "Cavern Crossing Supercraft" on your favorite search engine and you'll probably see a link to an otterwiki instance as one of the top results). On the topic of our-of-the-box potential SEO improvement, Bing shows the actual Cavern Crossing page, while Google seems to take you to either the page index or the raw markdown view of the page, depending on the link you click.

For your secondary question, the answer is it depends on what wiki backend you decide to use.
