conflict with FasterCSV to_csv

FasterCSV gem also implements to_csv method for Array which clashes with AcsAsCSVable.
this may be my problem with my rails config, or fixable with a config reorganization. thanks

Are you using FasterCSV independently of ActsAsCSVable in your application, that this is causing you problems?

I ask, because the way I implemented the to_csv on Array, it should fall back to the FasterCSV implementation if any elements in the array don't respond to :to_row (which would be an ActsAsCSVable model)

Yes I'm using FasterCSV in a module elsewhere for complex importing /exporting

All elements respond_to?(:to_row) (all are AR objects). But it never gets to that point. FasterCSV raises an argument error immediately when I call
@records.to_csv(:template=>:default).

If I rename your Array#to_csv method to, say Array#to_csv_exportable, and call

@records.to_array_exportable(:template=>:default)

it seems to work. If I don't supply the template argument, FasterCSV#to_csv is called (without error)

I'm a bit of noob so I could probably understand how I'm requiring modules better, or try to call either one explicitly. I'm also using Ruby Enterprise. It works fine for development (ruby 1.8;7) , but not on the server with REE. AcstAsCSVable is installed as a plugin in Rails 2.3.x

That is interesting that REE seems to break it. I have no experience with REE, it might be doing some odd things in the loading of the gems that is breaking the code. The name chosen was intentional to overwrite the FasterCSV method (CSV gem in rails 3) and I would like to keep the API the same.

Can I get some more information on how you are using FasterCSV directly, and what exception you are getting? If you are calling @array.to_csv directly and expecting to use the FasterCSV method I can suggest a work around.
