`nlmls` voices only produce strange gibberish sound

Firstly, I love the idea of this plugin! I've been trying it out for an hour or so now and found something strange.

I tried installing the Dutch voice pack nlmls, but upon trying it in the Voice Explorer, I can only get the voices to produce a strange gibberish sound. It doesn't matter if I type something in Dutch or in English, it will just sound like gibberish. All Dutch voices produce a similar gibberish sound. The duration scales (seemingly) with the length of the input sentence, but it never seems to create something understandable.

Is this a problem with my setup or my installation, or is this actually reproducible?

I've installed piper 2023.11.14-2 from the GitHub release page.

It's possible that this is an encoding issue. Can you try running piper from the command line?

if you open a powershell in the piper directory you can run:

'Hello from the other side' | .\piper.exe --model .\models\demls\demls.onnx --output_file test.mp3

It seems like I'm getting this issue too. I feel like I remember dealing with this issue before
