Fails to startup after update to 26.4.2 (UDP only)

Hi,

Firstly thank you for the work you do for the community with the PiConsole, it is truly appreciated and usually works without a hiccup. However since I carried out the update to 26.4.2 this morning it fails to start and is throwing errors to the log file. Please find attached a copy of the wfpiconsole log and also a system info dump.

Hi Clive, sorry you have run into an issue. This is a known problem that only affects setups using the UDP connection rather than the Websocket connection. If you switch to Websocket in the Settings, it will work again. I should be able to get a fix out quite quickly for this though

Same here, the UDP method stopped working on the latest update :(

I did a full re-install of the Pi OS and wfpiconsole and it works once again. Second time I've had to do this after an update. Really, really love the product...just need to turn off update notifications and don't update anymore.

Looks like the update broke mine as well. I'm running with web sockets. I ran the update and rebooted the Pi and then the console wouldn't start. I tried to reinstall the console and am getting this....looks like maybe some missing or bum files on the git server?

Yes, looks like something has corrupted the git repository. I would suggest taking a backup of you wfpiconsole.ini file, then delete the whole wfpiconsole directory using rm -rf ~/wfpiconsole/, and then reinstall using the full install command. This should fetch a clean copy of the git respository

Sorry you ran into issues, but from your log it looks like there were issues with your connection (you can see all the websocket time out errors). These are usually client-server issues that are not related to the PiConsole itself. Either way, glad you manged to get up and running and sorry this has happened twice!

@G4KCM and @mzac I have a fix in place for the UDP issue. Please can you test by switching to the beta branch? Stop the PiConsole, run the wfpiconsole beta command, and then start the console again. You will need to enable UDP again if you have switched to Websocket
