GSoC 2026 Proposal Review: Context-Aware Hint and Answer Support System (Sai Manohari Godavarty)

I have submitted my GSoC 2026 proposal for the [Android] CLaM project: Context-Aware Hint and Answer Support System in Oppia Android.

I have been actively contributing to Oppia Android and here are my PRs:

Thanks @saimanoharigodavarty. I suspect we might not be able to look at and review this before the deadline, but you're still welcome to submit it.

However, I do want to clarify some things thing. Custom projects are rather challenging to propose because a lot of things needs to be addressed beyond the normal expectations for a project:

• It needs to have very clear product and user benefits (which we already figure out for the projects on the ideas list before GSoC begins).
• It needs to have a very sound technical break-down (which we provide ahead of time for projects on the ideas list).
• It needs to correctly sized, have correct skill mapping, and have a mentor interested in mentoring it (all of which are determined ahead of times for ideas list projects).

It's certainly not impossible for custom projects to get accepted but it's a bit of an uphill battle which is why we generally recommend that applicants focus on projects from the ideas list.
