Hi @itsadityaaaaa. We require all participants in GSoC for Oppia to have extended timelines, and specifically the timeline that we outline on our wiki page. We do this for a few reasons:

  • It provides more structured time for reviews and addressing feedback, even though the core coding period is slightly shorter.
  • It provides an actual break between milestones M1 and M2 rather than having them be immediately consecutive.

We've found that this approach increases the chance of success of GSoC projects by reducing uncertainty and ensuring adequate feedback can be collected and shared.
