Given the key directory of a lockbox only contains public keys what purpose does backing up each lockboxes key directory serve.
I think it was originally designed to add in recovery but these keys don't help with decryption (a private key is required for that).
I suppose they can be used to restore the set of recipient to a recovered lock box but this is more a convenience .
Review if the back is worth retaining.
