Ahead of time configuration of DNB Hotfolder Username and Subfolder IDs

As a Journal Manager of a new journal, I need to configure service integrations for deposition before content is available, in so Journal Editors can use a fully working and compliant Diamond Open Access publishing platform.

Currently the settings screen only becomes available after the first issue has been published. Else a warning is thrown and nothing happens.

For our use case it would be favourable if the Settings screen becomes available before the first issue has been published, in so a journal and its integration can be configured ahead of time.

The deposit article tab could still keep its current behaviour.

which OJS/plugin version are you using? I think for the newer version this has already been removed.

This is the current LTS version, OJS 3.3 using DNB 1.5.3.

do you have access to the server and would be able to comment some lines of code?

If so could you try to comment out lines 141 -146:

I tried this on my OJS 3.5 installation and it seems to work with no side effects. Could you confirm tis?

We are using OJS 3.3 and rely on immutable upstream releases for deployed versions.

Let me look into setting up a development environment for deploying a branch of this plugin next week.

I removed this check for OJS 3.5 (plugin version 1.7.x): 9455544

How urgently would you need a backport to OJS 3.3 ? I would rather recommend upgrading to 3.5.
