Speed limit doesn't work properly

Current Behavior

I placed a speed limit since I otherwise can not connect to my PC external since there is no bandwidth left.
If I restart my PC the speed limit is still in place but it is not working. In the interface is is seen that there is a 'plane' instead of a 'truck'. When I change the speed limit a little bit, save changes and reload, then the speed limit is restored and working again.

Also at 'status' the speed limit is showed as a 'warning'. But off course this is by own choice. It should be showed more as a 'notification' then a 'warning'

Expected Behavior

As the speed limit is remembered it should be reinstated after restarting my PC.

Regarding the speed limit (truck/airplane icon or R via console window), it's designed as a temporary session limit, so it is normal behavior for it to reset when NZBGet restarts.
For a more permanent solution that survives restarts, I highly recommend trying the SpeedControl extension.

The warning is about the speed limit, but this is user input so should be a warning but a notification.

As of SpeedControl, I tried to install that extension but it doesn't work. I installed Python 3.13.3 and the SpeedControl extension is shown as a installed extension. But when I hit the 'test' button I'm getting errors. So the latest SpeedControl is not working with NZBGet 26.2.

I still need the exact text of the warning message. NZBGet does not natively generate warnings for the speed limit (since the limit resets on reload), so seeing the specific log output is the only way to track this down.

Regarding SpeedControl, what specific errors are you seeing when you test it? Also, check if NZBGet is actually using Python 3.13.3 on the Status page under Tools, and verify that you have added a category in the SpeedControl - Categories settings and enabled the extension

The warning I get in orange text is: 'Global download speed is restricted to 37888000 KB/s by 'DownloadRate'

Regarding the SpeedControl: if I hit the 'Check now' button at 'Test', then I get:
Executing script SpeedControl with command Test
Speed Control: No executor found for c:\ProgramData\NZBGet\scripts\SpeedControl\main.py
Speed Control: Could not start script SpeedControl with command Test: error 193
Script SpeedControl with command Test failed

And before you mension, the extension .py is linked to Python, so if I open a *.py file through Explorer, then Python is opening it.

Good catch regarding the warning message—I agree that it makes more sense as an informational notification, so It will be moved to the info section. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to reproduce the download rate restarting issue on Windows on my end.

Regarding the SpeedControl script and error: even though Windows Explorer knows how to handle .py files, NZBGet itself needs to explicitly know where the executor is. If NZBGet doesn't see the correct Python version (or any at all), the extension won't work.
Check the Status page under Tools to see if the correct Python version is actually listed.
If it is missing or incorrect, go to Settings -> Extension Scripts. Find the ShellOverride option and enter the exact path to your Python executable. It should look like this: .py=C:\Path\To\python.exe. Save the changes, restart NZBGet, and than hit the Test button on the extension again.
