turning problem

I use Arch with Hyprland.
For four days now, I've been trying to create a custom module so that the Cava bars (i.e., the “sound” strips) don't go from bottom to top, but from left to right, or in any other way. (my waybar is perfectly configured and located on the right side, and I would like the bars to go either from it “right to left” or into it “left to right”). and I am VERY lacking in documentation or any hints on how to implement this, because no matter how much I try to use bars_circle or stars or regular bars with draw editing as an example, nothing works. The only thing I was able to do was to make the bases of the bars appear on the left side of the monitor, and even then they did not increase with the audio.
I'll post the code in the comments under the issue that I tried to do, if it's too bad, well, Idk, I'll go cry.

problem is that the code is quite unreadable by making "optimizations" that i thought had helped (compilers were optimizing this since forever). Good reminder that I should take that out for the sake of readibility.

Anyway undoing those "optimizations", we get a much clearer picture of what's going on:
Here's a version where I moved the bars to the horizontal direction instead, where a define macro controls the orientation.

What you essentially needed to do is just swap all the X and Y coordinates. And to flip it just have the value subtract the viewport end (ie. xava->inner.w in this case) and use that as the new value.

Sorry but I couldn't work with your version as I had no idea what you're doing in your own code. I just forked the bars example and did those small modifications, you can diff them against master.

Also another thing: Don't think I've ever built the main logic to support that, I'll have to migrate the bar code logic out of the main executable and into a separate function where I can put an arbitrary viewport size.

Currently, even if you place bars on the side the sizing will be all wrong due to screen widths being much longer than heights on typical setups.
