Whisker trace limitations?  #51

Description

@samsongk

Hello Nathan, two questions:

First, I was wondering if there was a way to reduce the sensitivity of the trace step when assigning an object in the frame as a potential whisker so as to avoid assignment of false whiskers.

For example, if I have a slightly messy whisker base I get too many outcomes in which there is a pseudo-whisker creeping up the base of the assigned main whisker that often causes the whisker id to be mis-assigned. In my experience this is not corrected by applying the reclassify step to the videos, some minor improvements made when directly changing brightness and contrast of the video, additional improvements to all but close contacts can be made by changing minimum length. Have tinkered with previously stable default settings a fair amount but have yet to find anything that broadly works.

Second, is there a supported way to limit where in the frame whiskers could be assigned in so that whisker ends could not be found beyond a certain point (except maybe in the case where another whisker endpoint is within the allowed range).

I sometimes run into a case in which I have a 'floating whisker' on the far side of an object that a whisker is in contact or near-contact with. Has not been a major issue lately, but has caused the whisker id to be dropped in the past and thought I'd ask.

Thanks for any reply, hope all is well!
