on each processor for that message type. It makes interprocessor
communications transparent.

started prior to any other radlib processes. See radmsgRouter.h for details.
4) Changed the build environment so "raddebug" and the new message router
"radmrouted" are built/installed when radlib is built/installed. They are
installed to the same prefix as radlib in the "bin" directory, i.e.
[prefix]/bin/raddebug and [prefix]/bin/radmrouted.
5) Added a new message router-based multiprocess template application example.
This demonstrates how to use the new radlib message router and how to
implement radlib multiprocess applications.

1) Changed the typedefs for LIST and LIST_ID to RADLIST and RADLIST_ID
respectively to avoid namespace collision with MySQL, which began using
these names in version 4.1 about 12 years after early incarnations of
radlib did. All radlib applications using the list utility will have to be
changed to use the typedefs "RADLIST" and "RADLIST_ID".
2) Added socket debug capability and the functions "radSocketSetDebug" and
"radUDPSocketSetDebug" to enable or disable the logging of all RX/TX data
on the socket.
3) Changed read paradigm for the UDP sockets to use the system call "recvfrom"
instead of the "read exact" approach as UDP datagrams cannot be read in a
piecemeal fashion, as required by the "read exact" approach.
4) Changed the radlib build model to use libtool and generate shared libraries
as well as the static library when allowed on the build platform. Modified
radlib header files so they can be included in C++ source files. These two
changes allow radlib to be used (linked) in C++ applications.

1) Added capability in radprocess.[ch] to add (prepend) and remove additional
message queue handlers. A list of handlers is now maintained and traversed
when a message is received. Added functions to flag a message for retention
(replaces the previous srcQueueName kludge) and to halt the message handler

be called from within a message handler. See radprocess.h for details.
2) Added SHA-1 and SHA-256 secure hashing algorithm utilities - an
implementation of NIST's Secure Hash Algorithms. This utility generates
160 bit and 256 bit hashes (or digests) respectively for memory blocks or
for files. Also handles host endianness properly. See radsha.h for usage
and the SHA test program in test/sha for an example implementation.
3) Added CRC16 and CRC32 (CCITT) generation utilities. See radcrc.h for
details and usage.

is set back to blocking mode (the default) after the connection succeeds.

storing the system start time in both milliseconds since the EPOCH
and seconds since the EPOCH.

The library and headers are installed in /usr/local/bin
and /usr/local/include by default, although the prefix

make.config, rules.make, and Makefile has been removed from
the distro. The "configure" script generates the build files
based on the host platform.
2) Removed BSD precompilation check for sem set size and
defaulted it to 16.

group calls radSystemInit, the start time is stored. From that point
forward, any process in the radlib system can retrieve the system up
time in one of 3 ways:
radSystemGetUpTimeMS: returns number of milliseconds since start
radSystemGetUpTimeSEC: returns number of seconds since start
radSystemGetUpTimeSTR: returns an up time string of the form
"Y years, M months, D days, H hours, m minutes, S seconds".
