EGL_BAD_PARAMETER error when running Agency_Agents_0.2.1_amd64.AppImage

When running Agency_Agents_0.2.1_amd64.AppImage, I get the error: "Could not create default EGL display: EGL_BAD_PARAMETER. Aborting...". Please investigate.

Thanks for the report, @tuxarch! 🙏 That's WebKitGTK's DMABUF renderer failing to create an EGL display — a common one on Linux GPU/driver stacks (Arch, NVIDIA, Wayland, newer Mesa). It's not specific to your setup, and it has a clean fix.

Unblock yourself right now — run the AppImage with the DMABUF renderer disabled:

WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1 ./Agency_Agents_0.2.1_amd64.AppImage

(If it still misbehaves, WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1 is a fallback.)

Durable fix is in flight: the app will set that variable itself at startup on Linux, so you won't need the workaround after the next release — msitarzewski/agency-agents-app#36. It's Linux-only and respects the variable if you've already set it.

Quick correction: this auto-closed when the fix merged to main (my PR used a "Resolves" keyword) — but the fix isn't in a downloadable build yet. Reopening so it reflects reality: the guard is on main and will go out in the next release (v0.2.2). Until then, the WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1 workaround above is the way to run it. I'll close this for good once v0.2.2 ships. 🐧
