Some emails don't display.

I'm guessing this is because of Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64. But I'm not sure.

Yep possibly, not sure how these emails would work TBH.

This happens whenever I use Apple Mail on iOS to send messages. Apparently, it only sends the text/html part and not the text/plain part.

Here’s the same message on news-web, which used to show the same blank message until we modified it to use the text/html part if text/plain is missing:

It’s still not formatted well because the HTML makes it clear which parts of the message are quoted, and we’ve stripped the tags, but it’s better than showing no message.

@ramsey thanks a lot for the context. Falling back to the HTML version makes a lot of sense 👍 better than showing nothing.

I won't have time to dive into this personally but if anyone reading this wants to send a PR that would be awesome!
