from consult.el:5702 because it conflicts with regular vertico user interaction.

Nobody has complained so far, and insertion is usually not that useful for async commands.

Insertion is useful for narrowing results via partial suggestions.

I use it in affe. I start typing, variant with a needed part comes up, press tab (delete useless part if there is) and get needed suggestions, like in default vertico.

For moving to next variant in selection i can use arrow keys, like in default vertico.
