Countries and energy providers struggle to accurately forecast electricity demand and renewable energy capacity needs. Current methods often rely on outdated spreadsheets or siloed data, leading to:
Inefficient grid planning → Energy shortages or wasteful overproduction
Slow policy decisions → Delayed transition to renewables
Lack of AI integration → Missed patterns in climate/usage data
Our Solution:
A Microsoft Fabric-powered energy forecasting system that:
✔ Unifies historical data in OneLake
✔ Uses Spark ML to forecast energy
✔ Visualizes scenarios in Power BI for policymakers
Impact:
Enables data-driven decisions to achieve UN Sustainable Development Goal 7 (Affordable Clean Energy) while reducing carbon emissions.
