Description
We’ve built an AI-powered traffic control system that uses Reinforcement Learning and real-time weather and traffic data to optimize how traffic lights behave in busy urban areas — starting with a real intersection on Kenyatta Avenue in Nairobi.
Using SUMO simulations, Azure Machine Learning, and Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse, our system trains a traffic light controller that adapts to changing traffic flow and weather conditions. This reduces congestion and improves traffic efficiency in a way traditional systems can’t.
It’s a fresh, data-driven approach to solving real-world gridlock — combining AI, simulation, and live data to create smarter, safer cities.
