In the iOS app, there is no option to enable JSON in the MQTT connection settings. This option is available in the web client, but not in the app.

Current protobufs warn: "Deprecated: JSON packet support on MQTT was removed, and this field is ignored." This leads me to believe the removal here was intentional and it is either an outdated web client or a bug in the web client.
