FR: Use camera for motion detection when no proximity sensor is found

What problem would this solve?

My SMT1019 panel does not have a proximity sensor, but it does have a front facing camera. Could a rudimentary motion sensor be implemented for the camera to drive basic clear/detected states in HA? No need for the camera to be streamed to HA or any elaborate object detection - Just is there enough motion on the camera to determine if there is a thing there that is maybe trying to use it or is in front of it.

Also if there was an option to 'dim on idle' and restore full brightness (or at least brightness based on lx sensor) when there is activity/motion that would drive some power efficiencies.

I know this is a feature of FullyKiosk and I have already built in foundations for camera access but my intention would be to use this for a future intercom or security feature. I'm not comfortable with a camera being always-on in my house when the only benefit offered in return is motion detection.

I am not saying no but when you have a reliable connection between HA and your panel then there are many other ways to awake your panel through an automation and other motion sensors, plus that automation can use all the other context of HA to do this to set an appropriate brightness and auto idle.

If this comes feature comes will be post v1.0 and likely after I have got secure cameras working for a greater purpose.

All fair points - I was looking at streaming the camera from the tablet into my UniFI Protect setup, but that just seemed like too much effort for something simple :)

I totally get the privacy concerns (I'm English too, so I pronounce it privacy, not the US privacy) - On device motion detection seems pretty low risk and is an existing function of other tablet/kiosk platforms.
