can't cast to Nest Audio

When I hit the botton to cast I see my Nest Audio (individual speakers and pair) but I get the following error after choosing the device to cast to:
ERROR shortwave::ui::display_error           > Unable to connect with device: Unable to launch app: NOT_ALLOWED

how can I cast? is this a flatpak permission error I can fix or something else?
