manjaro unable to remember external monitors and their positions

Describe the bug
when I plug my laptop on its base with 2 external monitors, manjaro does not enable them as it used to. it also forgets the position of each screen and the priority, places the new windows and pop up on the wrong screen (the most top left each time).

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. put the laptop on its base
2. open display settings, enable all monitors, position them as desired, set the correct one as primary display and save
3. unplug the laptop from the base
4. put the laptop on its base and all displays are now disabled and stacked on top of each other when enabled with the incorrect one set as primary

Expected behavior
set the display once and then the OS remembers the settings as it used to

Environment:

• Desktop Environment: KDE latest plasma
• Kernel Version: 7.0.9-1-MANJARO, but same issue on 6.18 and 6.12
• Manjaro Version: 26.1.0-pre Bian-May
• Graphics Driver: Intel
• Device: laptop

Additional context
the manjaro forums are a toxic cesspool where no serious technical discussion can happen so I had to dig to find this hub for bug reports which is not referenced from any official public facing source.

while manjaro never really got this right (few bug where desktop background would be teared, application bar going missing, new windows and pop-up opening on the wrong display, sending power saving to lower luminosity to a display that's not in use, send power saving despite having manually blocked this behaviour in power profile) at least manjaro remembered the display settings and did not mindlessly stack all displays on top of one another when first enabled.

it stopped doing so months ago and despite several system upgrade that often broke many things, this behaviour has yet to be fixed.

this is not the subject of the bug report. but you could not be more wrong. I tried going there and found out the hard way that people there will first atteépt to deny the issue is real and tell you you are the problem, then when you post the actual technical solution and upstream bug report, the problematic guy will force choose his answer pretending the issue is not real as the chosen answer, then people from the hierachy of power show up, gang on you, make fun of you threaten you, then a guy from clean up team comes and hide your post and delete your solution.

I was flabbergasted by this, so made a post to ask if this was normal and had a flurry of answers from different people telling me that yes this kind of toxic behaviour was commonplace and known to push people away for years, but not well known to outsiders because the cleanup team takes care of delisting or deleting all evidence. that the only choice you have is to endure it or leave.

I asked on a dedicated subreddits and have received similar answers, and have been pointed to blog posts about the many issues manjaro has that I had not suspected over the years I have been using it daily but had to admit are true, including my own experience of the majaro forums.

this is only and last time I am talking about this as I don't care about it anymore, I spent several years being active enduring the toxicity in those forums ans am now simply keeping away from the manjaro forums as I know nothing good will ever come from there for me and I don't see the point of being a part of it.

now please, let's stay on topic and let's find a solution to why manjaro stopped remembering display settings when the laptop leaves its base which is what I care about as this bug has been affecting me for some time now and it is a serious papaer cut as I plug/plug the base several times a day.
