Future of this project and sodiumoxide

Currently sodiumoxide is looking for maintainership: https://github.com/dnaq/sodiumoxide/issues/203

As a user who recently switched from sodiumoxide to this library due to the static linking I wonder if it wouldn't make sense to merge those two projects together in some capacity?

We would be very much in favour of (re)combining these two projects actually. If anyone wished to become involved they would be warmly welcomed. There have been great community contributors but the admin of this crate so far is one company (maidsafe), it would be nice if that were to change and become less centralised.

I'd be willing to contribute occasionally, but don't have the capacity to be a full maintainer.

We are open to recombining this crate.
