Drop some dead/obsolete/unsupported ports (old terminal emulators, KDE4, known_fail ports) #192

Description

@barracuda156

I intend to do some clean-up, dropping ports which are clearly obsolete, not supported by upstreams and not in plans to be supported here, known to be broken and those for which there are unambiguously superior maintained alternatives.

Candidates to be wiped:

  1. Anything KDE4: it was never working correctly even at the time I spent a lot of effort to fix what MacPorts had broken: some ports worked, but most interesting ones never did. While we do need Qt4 for non-KDE ports, carrying over an obsolete semi-broken KDE is wasteful. This should just go.
  2. Obsolete terminal emulators: iTerm2, macterm. Fixing their modern versions is impractical, and they are superseded by contour, mlterm and bobcat.
  3. Anything known-to-fail which is out of scope of plans to be fixed. (Not many such ports, mostly KDE4, which will go anyway.) Need to decide on R-app.
  4. Archaic multimedia ports: VLC2, maybe mplayer (replace with mplayer-devel).
  5. All not required -devel versions (notable exception: QMPlay2 and QMPlay2-devel shall stay for now, as well as qt4-mac-devel and qt4-mac).

This is not set in stone, I will wait to see if any objections are raised, if nothing, then gonna proceed with the clean-up.
