Audio hickup

Hi, trying Elements. - First post ;)

I have issues with the audio Input.
I have an Axe IO interface. The Axe IO Control panel shows input, if I use the standalone Amplitube 5 everything is ok. So outside Elements everything is perfect.

But in Elements the audio is very choppy. Feels like there was a gate with a very low threshold. Very bad audio sound.
How can I troubleshoot this. I am pretty sure this is related to Element - not my OS.
I have rebooted etc, no change.
